Pick a product and say how much you are mixing. The numbers come from the same place as the table below and the label on the bottle.
A note on all of this
Every figure here is a guide rather than a rule. What a car actually needs depends on how dirty it is: a fortnight of motorway salt wants the strong end of a range, a weekly wash over a fresh coating does not. Start in the middle, and go up if it is not shifting.
Stay inside the range and the dwell on the label, and on a finish you are not sure about, try it somewhere out of sight first.
If you are after the whole routine rather than one measure, the wash in order puts every one of these in the place it belongs.
Several products go on more than one way, and the calculator asks which before it asks anything else. Sometimes the ratio changes with the method: SUDZ in a bucket is nothing like SUDZ in a lance. Sometimes it does not, and only the vessel changes: ZEST is the same ratio whether it goes through a lance, which holds a litre, or a pressure sprayer, which holds five or ten. Either way, picking the method sets the amount you are mixing.

Getting the most from it
- Measure concentrates. Use the stated dose for the chosen application method. Ready-to-use products such as ARMOUR, SLICK, PURE and TOUCH should be used as directed, without inventing a dilution.
- Add product to water, not water to product. It mixes evenly and foams far less in the bucket.
- Follow the finishing step. Rinse-off products must be rinsed before they dry. SLICK, PURE and TOUCH are wiped and buffed as directed. Check each product page for its full method.
- Start with clean water. Whatever is already in the bucket ends up on the car.
In order
The range is built as a sequence rather than a shelf. Working through it in order, from release and lift through to protect and finish, is what the dwell times assume.
